So, those of you that follow me on Twitter or Facebook will now know that all of the obscure and cryptic comments over the past few weeks have been leading up to the announcement that I have taken the big step of quitting my day job in order to write full time.
This is something that I have been building up to for a number of months now, and while I spend a few moments a day thinking I’ve gone stark staring mad, it is a decision I’ve been dying to make for much longer.
I couldn’t have done this without the world wide web being the massive supply and demand culture for content that it has become; if only things had been as far advanced ten years ago, I would never have even entered the 9-5 jobs market.
Of course, I would have missed out on vital experience and grounding, not to mention the need for considerable self-discipline and planning. My freelance daily routine has been mapped out for weeks now, and will kick off with a good 7am start, with me working on “bread and butter” assignments through to mid-afternoon and developing new projects from mid-afternoon until early evening.
So – the full list of projects as things stand are:
Kasterborous the Book #1/Ultimate Regeneration
- The Gadget Monkey (website)
- FairyTale Mail (website)
- Cult Britannia (website)
- Valvestate (comic strip/graphic novel)
- The Riding Officer (comedy)
- Eric’s Novel (novel)
- The Professionals (unofficial tribute)
- The Beatles (ebook)
All of this kicks off on October 4th, 2010 – exciting times!Technorati Tags: projects, websites, books, freelance, writing
